KERALA

A slender green crescent tucked away at the further-most South-Western point of India, Kerala lies along a 590 Kilometer sun-drenched coast line of the Arabian Sea, banked inland by the mountain-rimmed border of the craggy Western Ghats. The State forms a small arc covering an area of about 39,000 kilometers and cascades delicately down contoured hills of the foam-washed golden coasts covered with verdant coconut groves.

The marvel of Kerala is that in spite of the heavy pressure on the land, the virginal beauty of nature is preserved almost intact in the mist-covered hills, the green plains and the golden sea-coast. Kerala is a land of breath-taking colourful contrasts. Here yesterday, today and tomorrow blend in graceful harmony – a kaleidoscope of vibrant colours.
